A New Season at Lovey Patisserie Cafe: Saying Goodbye to Summer Fruits
As the seasons begin to change in Melbourne, the flavours in our kitchen change with them.
Throughout summer, many of our cakes celebrated vibrant seasonal fruits. Peaches, cherries, lychee and mango each brought their own brightness to our shortcakes, capturing the sweetness and warmth of the season. These fruits are loved for their juicy texture and natural fragrance, making them perfect for light chiffon cakes paired with fresh cream.
However, like all seasonal ingredients, summer fruits eventually reach the end of their peak. As we say goodbye to peaches, cherries, lychee and mango for now, our menu begins its quiet transition into the next chapter of flavours.
At Lovey Patisserie Cafe, seasonality is an important part of how we create desserts. Rather than offering the same cakes all year, we allow the changing produce to inspire new ideas and combinations. This approach keeps our cakes fresh, thoughtful and closely connected to the rhythm of the seasons.
As autumn approaches, our team has been preparing a new lineup of cakes that will soon arrive in store. Guests can look forward to a refreshed Matcha Yuzu White Chocolate Shortcake, a comforting Thai Milk Tea Basque Cheesecake, and the long awaited return of our Mont Blanc Shortcake. Each cake brings its own character while continuing Lovey’s focus on balance, texture and elegant flavour.
While summer fruits may be leaving the stage for now, a new collection of desserts is just around the corner. For those who enjoy discovering seasonal cakes in Melbourne, the coming weeks at Lovey will be something to look forward to.
Visit our Doncaster or Melbourne CBD cafe to see what is currently in season and be among the first to experience the new flavours arriving soon.
